[Alexandria-list] no startup after an upgrade

Hi, Peter. First, let me apologize for your library getting screwed
up. If we had a proper array of unit tests, it would be safe to follow
along in svn. One day we'll get everything running smoothly.

Have you tried running with alexandria --debug? There's a lot of
output, but if you see anything interesting, could you copy it to the
list?
