Hey everyone,

I just went from Alexandria 0.6.5 to the latest off of the new PPA
(0.6.5+0.6.6beta1-1). When I attempt to start Alexander, it crashes
before the GUI is invoked.

Please cc me, since I am not a subscriber to this list.

This was reported on the Tracker back in January. It's bug #27622

The best solution is to install libhpricot-ruby and libhtmlentities-ruby

Thanks Steve. I had the former previously installed, but installing the
latter made it work. It looks like a missing dependency since
libhtmlentities-ruby should be added to debian/control?

That was done, and in SVN. But there was an hilariously long delay
after the beta release of 0.6.6, 'cos I broke my arm around Christmas
and... no, I've no excuses since about the middle of February. :^)

I guess I could put out the 0.6.6 release now, but it feels a little
silly, there've only been about 3 changes since the beta and it's been
so lonnnng. Still, if it fixes this problem... and if everyones'
Alexandria is mostly working still (no book providers suddenly broken),
I can push out a very-slightly modified release in the next week, with
the fixed deb file dependencies. I suppose it'll also be handy to have
a proper final version to point to for when the next release of Ubuntu
comes out with the old 0.6.5 release,  and I can suggest that people
upgrade.

Yes, definitely think that's a good idea. Let's hope it makes it into
Lucid.

Good idea as some people might be put of by the dependency issue if they  
are using older distros and give up. Besides only Google can get away with  
the Beta tag for that long :D
