Hi,

I was using in a shool the last version of alexandria on ubuntu 9.10, 
and with the subscription key for Amazon, all the things were fine.

I had a new computer, and it was installed in Ubuntu 8.04 LTS ( i can't 
change that).
I re-install all the files in the .alexandria directory.
I have my Library back but ... Amazon won't work anymore !

I tried to install the last version of Alexandria ( 
alexandria_0.6.6beta1.deb

) , but i have an error about libgnome2-ruby.

Any idea ?

If you were using the version that was included in Ubuntu 8.04
(Alexandria version 0.6.3) then the explanation is that way the Amazon
web service worked has changed since then (you need at least version
0.6.5 to work with Amazon's current web service).

Ah, there may be a dependency issue if you don't have at least version
0.17 of libgnome2-ruby. It *may* work with earlier versions - what
version of libgnome2-ruby do you have? The two obvious solutions are to
force installation of alexandria (tell your system to ignore dependency
warnings, not such a clean solution) or to build a new deb file with
less-strict dependencies (I can do that in 5 minutes if you like).
