From lawrence.auster at att.net Fri Jan 9 06:27:32 2009 From: lawrence.auster at att.net (Lawrence Auster) Date: Fri, 9 Jan 2009 12:27:32 +0100 Subject: [Alumnionrails-errors] Israel: The Bernie Madoff of Countries Message-ID: <20090109112726.IXJV6232.hrndva-omta01.mail.rr.com@2ao1z> Israel can now safely be called the Bernie Madoff of countries, at it has lied to the world about its intentions, stolen Palestinian lands continuously since 1948, and managed to do all this with American tax payer?s money. Every American taxpayer, starting with George W. Bush, has Palestinian blood on their hands thanks to the butchers that run Israel. Sderot, where a few homemade harmless missiles have landed, was once an Arab village called Najd, whose 600 Arab inhabitants were expelled by Israelis in 1948. Jewish settlers built over the old town in 1951. Having been ethnically cleansed, the Arabs moved to the Gaza Strip, along with some other 750,000 Palestinians who had been removed from their lands?or murdered, like the villagers of Deir Yassin?before the first Arab-Israeli war had even begun. UN Resolution 194 and Article 13 of the UN Declaration of Human Rights say the people of Najd and Palestine?s other 384 demolished villages must be allowed to go home. But they can?t because Israel confines them in a small stretch of coastal desert that the Egyptian army held onto in 1949 and became a dumping ground for the displaced population of southern Palestine. Ninety per cent of Gaza?s 1.5 million people are refugees and their descendants. Israel won?t let them come back, nor will it let them have a state of their own in Gaza and the West Bank even if they relinquish their right of return. When Israel pulled out 8000 Israelis from Gaza in 2005, it funded immediately 12,000 new settlers in stolen Palestinian lands on the West Bank. In other words, while neocon Zionists like Frum, Podhoretz and Kristol trumpeted Israel?s withdrawal in the American media (neocon Zionists should be made to register as foreign agents?which they are?of a terrorist state, to boot) Israel was stealing and settling more Palestinian lands. If Israel hopes to stop rocket fire?probably the most inefficient in history?it is going about it the wrong way. Israeli Goebbelses keep asking Americans what they would do if someone fired rockets at them. Well, let?s ask the same Americans what they would do if most of their towns and cities were cleansed of Americans and driven into little strips along the Mexican border. What would Americans do if the Israelis sealed off one of those refugee strips for 18 months and did not allow any medical or food assistance in or the people out?legally an act of war. I can tell you what Americans would do, and it would be a damn sight harsher and more effective than what the humiliated but not yet defeated Palestinians have been doing. Americans have been totally brainwashed and lied to by Israel?s agents?the neocons and their useful idiots. As soon as the murder of Palestinian children stops, Israel?s PR machine will go into overdrive, just as it did following the killings of Lebanese and Palestinians in 2006. Next time a swaggering oaf like Frum, Kristol or Podhoretz opens their mouth, stuff a bag of rotten eggs into it. ----- You or someone using your email adress is currently subscribed to the Lawrence Auster Newletter. You can find it on the Israeli website, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website. Israel broke the ceasefire by going into the Gaza and killing six or seven Palestinian militants. At that point?and now I?m quoting the official Israeli website?Hamas retaliated or, in retaliation for the Israeli attack, then launched the missiles. Now, as to the reason why, the record is fairly clear as well. According to Ha?aretz, Defense Minister Barak began plans for this invasion before the ceasefire even began. In fact, according to yesterday?s Ha?aretz, the plans for the invasion began in March. And the main reasons for the invasion, I think, are twofold. Number one; to enhance what Israel calls its deterrence capacity, which in layman?s language basically means Israel?s capacity to terrorize the region into submission. After their defeat in July 2006 in Lebanon, they felt it important to transmit the message that Israel is still a fighting force, still capable of terrorizing those who dare defy its word. And the second main reason for the attack is because Hamas was signaling that it wanted a diplomatic settlement of the conflict along the June 1967 border. That is to say, Hamas was signaling they had joined the international consensus, they had joined most of the international community, overwhelmingly the international community, in seeking a diplomatic settlement. And at that point, Israel was faced with what Israelis call a Palestinian peace offensive. And in order to defeat the peace offensive, they sought to dismantle Hamas. As was documented in the April 2008 issue of Vanity Fair by the writer David Rose, basing himself on internal US documents, it was the United States in cahoots with the Palestinian Authority and Israel which were attempting a putsch on Hamas, and Hamas preempted the putsch. That, too, is no longer debatable or no longer a controversial claim. The issue is can it rule in Gaza if Israel maintains a blockade and prevents economic activity among the Palestinians. The blockade, incidentally, was implemented before Hamas came to power. The blockade doesn?t even have anything to do with Hamas. The blockade came to?there were Americans who were sent over, in particular James Wolfensohn, to try to break the blockade after Israel redeployed its troops in Gaza. The problem all along has been that Israel doesn?t want Gaza to develop, and Israel doesn?t want to resolve diplomatically the conflict, both the leadership in Damascus and the leadership in the Gaza have repeatedly made statements they?re willing to settle the conflict in the June 1967 border. The record is fairly clear. In fact, it?s unambiguously clear. The Facts About Hamas and the War on Gaza Every year, the United Nations General Assembly votes on a resolution entitled ?Peaceful Settlement of the Palestine Question.? And every year the vote is the same: it?s the whole world on one side; Israel, the United States and some South Sea atolls and Australia on the other side. The vote this past year was 164-to-7. Every year since 1989?in 1989, the vote was 151-to-3, the whole world on one side, the United States, Israel and the island state of Dominica on the other side. We have the Arab League, all twenty-two members of the Arab League, favoring a two-state settlement on the June 1967 border. We have the Palestinian Authority favoring that two-state settlement on the June 1967 border. We now have Hamas favoring that two-state settlement on the June 1967 border. The one and only obstacle is Israel, backed by the United States. That?s the problem. Well, the record shows that Hamas wanted to continue the ceasefire, but only on condition that Israel eases the blockade. Long before Hamas began the retaliatory rocket attacks on Israel, Palestinians were facing a humanitarian crisis in Gaza because of the blockade. The former High Commissioner for Human Rights, Mary Robinson, described what was going on in Gaza as a destruction of a civilization. This was during the ceasefire period. What does the record show? The record shows for the past twenty or more years, the entire international community has sought to settle the conflict in the June 1967 border with a just resolution of the refugee question. Are all 164 nations of the United Nations the rejectionists? And are the only people in favor of peace the United States, Israel, Nauru, Palau, Micronesia, the Marshall Islands and Australia? Who are the rejectionists? Who?s opposing a peace? The record shows that in every crucial issue raised at Camp David, then under the Clinton parameters, and then in Taba, at every single point, all the concessions came from the Palestinians. Israel didn?t make any concessions. Every concession came from the Palestinians. The Palestinians have repeatedly expressed a willingness to settle the conflict in accordance with international law. The law is very clear. July 2004, the highest judicial body in the world, the International Court of Justice, ruled Israel has no title to any of the West Bank and any of Gaza. They have no title to Jerusalem. Arab East Jerusalem, according to the highest judicial body in the world, is occupied Palestinian territory. The International Court of Justice ruled all the settlements, all the settlements in the West Bank, are illegal under international law. Now, the important point is, on all those questions, the Palestinians were willing to make concessions. They made all the concessions. Israel didn?t make any concessions. I think it?s fairly clear what needs to happen. Number one, the United States and Israel have to join the rest of the international community, have to abide by international law. I don?t think international law should be trivialized. I think it?s a serious issue. If Israel is in defiance of international law, it should be called into account, just like any other state in the world. Mr. Obama has to level with the American people. He has to be honest about what is the main obstacle to resolving the conflict. It?s not Palestinian rejectionism. It?s the refusal of Israel, backed by the United States government, to abide by international law, to abide by the opinion of the international community. And the main challenge for all of us as Americans is to see through the lies. ----- You or someone using your email adress is currently subscribed to the Lawrence Auster Newletter. Israel is the real terrorist state! Forwarded by David Duke ? The following is by Phillip Tourney, Three Time President of the USS Liberty Veterans Association. Every survivor of the Liberty, as well as the U.S. Secretary of State at the time of the attack, Dean Rusk, is certain that Israel made a deliberate terrorist attack against the USS Liberty much like they did a few years earlier when Israel made terrorist bombings against American facilities in the Lavon Affair. 34 Americans died and 173 Americans were grievously wounded on the Liberty. In that dastardly attack Israel dropped napalm on our naval intelligence ship, torpedoed it, and then against the Geneva convention, even machine-gunned the deployed life rafts. Israel intended to kill everyone aboard and then blame the attack on the Egyptians just as they did in the Lavon Affair. What stymied their plans was the incredible courage and heroism of the men on board (the Captain won the Congressional Medal of Honor). It is not Hamas that is the terror government, it is Israel! Israel was founded on terror and is maintained by torture, repression, murder and terrible crimes against humanity. It is downright treasonous for the U.S. Congress to issue a resolution condemning Hamas and condoning the Israeli mass murder and maiming of the Palestinean people. The truth is that Congress should be condemning Israel as the true terrorist nation. No Americans have been victims of Hamas, but plenty of Americans have been victims of Israeli terrorism. Read the following emotional head of the Liberty survivors as he says what the craven dogs of the US Congress should have said! January 14, 2009 - crescentandcross Things are very tense in the Middle East and as a survivor of Israel?s attack on the USS Liberty 41 years ago I am convinced that the truth about what happened to us can change the world and change what people believe about ?poor old Israel?, as the Liberty story is the straw that will break the back of the Zionist Government murderers. Americans will not stand with Israel when the Liberty truth is told, and it is our duty to get this done now! Each day that goes by I feel guilty over the deaths of the innocent men, women and children of the Middle East and I will not live with that. If I must stay on the computer 24 7 I will. If I must be on the networks I will. If I must beg my country to not allow any more murder of innocent Palestinians I will. If I must give my possessions, my money, my life, whatever, I will honor the Constitution of the Untied States of America just as I swore to do over 40 years ago. I have been lucky enough to be born in this I promised land. We are the ?PATRIOTS? of our time we must bring back the reason and honesty our forefathers gave us. If not, we will not see the smiling faces of innocent loving children ever again in this country. PATRIOTS must rise up NOW and demand life, demand dignity to all persons without the Zionist threat of destruction of all mankind. We will not be blackmailed by you, ISREAL, not one more second. We know that you are all about world domination and that?s not going to happen. America is too strong and we are smart and despite the fact there are still some dummies out there who support you the list is getting shorter by the minute. Get the hell out of our country and get out now?Take your whores, your drugs and your movie producers, and your homosexuals with you when you leave. Have your orgies in Israel and leave the rest of the world alone. It wont take long as your filthy life style will seal you murdering fate. Buchanan As Israel entered the third week of its Gaza blitz, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert regaled a crowd in Ashkelon with an astonishing tale. He had, said Olmert, whistled up George Bush, interrupted him in the middle of a speech and told him to instruct Condi Rice not to vote for a U.N. resolution Condi herself had written. Bush did as told, said Olmert. The crowd loved it. Here is the background. After intense negotiations with Britain and France, Secretary of State Rice had persuaded the Security Council to agree on a resolution calling for a cease-fire. But Olmert wanted more time to kill Hamas. So, here, in Olmert?s words, is what happened next. ?In the night between Thursday and Friday, when the secretary of state wanted to lead the vote on a cease-fire at the Security Council, we did not want her to vote in favor. ?I said, ?Get me President Bush on the phone.? They said he was in the middle of giving a speech in Philadelphia. I said I didn?t care. ?I need to talk to him now.? He got off the podium and spoke to me. According to Olmert, Bush was clueless. ?He said: ?Listen. I don?t know about it. I didn?t see it. I?m not familiar with the phrasing.? ?I told him the United States could not vote in favor. It cannot vote in favor of such a resolution. He immediately called the secretary of state and told her not to vote in favor. ? ?She was left shamed. A resolution that she prepared and arranged, and in the end she did not vote in favor.? The U.N. diplomatic corps was astonished when the United States abstained on the 14-0 resolution Rice had crafted and claimed her country supported. Arab diplomats say Rice promised them she would vote for it. State Department spokesman Sean McCormack, with Rice at the United Nations during the debate on the resolution, said Olmert?s remarks were ?just 100 percent, totally, completely untrue.? But the White House cut Rice off at the knees, saying only that there were ?inaccuracies? in the Olmert story. The video does not show Bush interrupting his speech to take any call. Yet, the substance rings true and is widely believed, and Olmert is happily describing the egg on Rice?s face: ?He (Bush) gave an order to the secretary of state, and she did not vote in favor of it ? a resolution she cooked up, phrased, organized and maneuvered for. She was left pretty shamed. ?? With Bush and Rice leaving office in hours, and Olmert in weeks, the story may seem to lack significance. Yet, public gloating by an Israeli prime minister that he can order a U.S. president off a podium and instruct him to reverse and humiliate his secretary of state may cause even Ehud?s poodle to rise up on its hind legs one day and bite its master. Taking such liberties with a superpower that, for Israel?s benefit, has shoveled out $150 billion and subordinated its own interests in the Arab and Islamic world would seem a hubristic and stupid thing to do. And there are straws in the wind that, despite congressional resolutions giving full-throated approval to all that Israel is doing in Gaza, this is becoming a troubled relationship. Two weeks ago, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, in opposing any truce, assured the world there ?is no humanitarian crisis in the (Gaza) Strip,? and the humanitarian situation there ?is completely as it should be.? Not so to Hillary Clinton. In her confirmation hearings, the secretary of state-designate, reports The New York Times, ?struck a sharper tone toward Israel on violence in the Middle East.? Clinton ?seemed to part from the tone set by the Bush administration in calling attention to what she described as the ?tragic humanitarian costs? borne by Palestinians, as well as Israelis.? More dramatic was a weekend report by the Times? David Sanger that the White House had rebuffed Olmert?s request for new U.S. bunker-buster bombs and denied Israel permission to overfly Iraq in any strike on Iran?s nuclear enrichment plant at Natanz. Sanger described these U.S.-Israeli talks as ?tense.? Repeatedly, Israel has warned that Iran is close to a bomb and threatened to attack unilaterally. Indeed, Israel simulated such an attack in an air exercise of 100 planes that went as far as Greece. Bush both blocked and vetoed that attack, says Sanger. But he did assure Olmert that America is engaged in the sabotage of Iran?s nuclear program by helping provide Tehran with defective parts. This would seem a stunning breach of security secrets, but no outrage has been heard from the White House, nor has any charge come that the Times compromised national security. With Olmert, Rice and Bush departing, and Obama and Hillary taking charge committed to talking to Iran, can the old intimacy survive the new friction and colliding agendas? ------ Israel: The Bernie Madoff of Countries Posted by Taki Theodoracopulos Israel can now safely be called the Bernie Madoff of countries, at it has lied to the world about its intentions, stolen Palestinian lands continuously since 1948, and managed to do all this with American tax payer?s money. Next time a swaggering oaf like Frum, Kristol or Podhoretz opens their mouth, stuff a bag of rotten eggs into it. http://www.takimag.com/blogs/article/israel_the_bernie_madoff_of_countries -------- You or someone using your email adress is currently subscribed to the Lawrence Auster Newletter.
