Several members, including myself, will be out of town for RubyConf on Wednesday night. We'll still be meeting in Collective Intellect's space (it's upstairs now). Joshua Timberman will present Chef 101, an introduction to Chef. He will cover what Chef is, what itches it can scratch for Ruby developers and businesses. Most of this talk takes a high level overview of Chef?s features and how they work. Finally, he will show a modest example and give some tips on workflow. We'll have our usual networking and snacks before hand. Afterwards, you're welcome to join some of the group for drinks and socializing. I do want to mention a couple things about the publishers. For Manning, you can get a 36% discount off books at www.manning.com. Use this code: UG367. You can also get free copies of books if you agree to post a review about it. If you're interested I can hook you up with the details. Just email me offlist. O'Reilly has pretty much the same program. 35% discount off their online stores, use code DSUG. If you want to review any of the O'Reilly books, let me know as I can get a copy for you. O'Reilly is also letting you try out the new version of Safari Books Online for 10 days free. The offer ends Nov 24th. I don't think the snow will be too bad by then. I'll post a same day tweet from our group twitter account, @boulderruby. Cheers, Marty Haught http://boulderruby.org
