I haven't scheduled anything yet so I'm looking for presenters for both January and February. I'm happy to take longer presentations/discussions that will take 30-45 minutes as well as shorter sharing/lightning talk content in the 10-15 minute range. If you have something you'd like to share, please email me offlist. Also, if you have any requests for topics or panels to have in the new year, let me know. Thanks! Bring your own laptop and join the Foraker Labs crew on the second Thursday each month for free beer, food, and hacking. http://rubyonbeer.com Our next meeting is THURSDAY, January 12th, starting at 5:00PM at our office: Foraker Labs 4775 Walnut Street, Suite 200 Boulder, Colorado There will be food. And beer. And of course we'll be hacking on stuff. Feel free to bring your own project or just come and pair up on a code kata or two. And while we obviously love all things Ruby and Rails, we're really more interested in fellowship and learning new things. So don't be afraid to drop in if you're working in a different technology! Need more information? Got questions? Drop us a line at rubyonbeer at foraker.com. Planning on coming? Of course you are! Let us know by signing up on Meetup: http://www.meetup.com/Boulder-Ruby-on-Beer I look forward to seeing you there! David Kovsky will discuss a weird idea that came to him during a testing workshop during Rocky Mountain Ruby: removing pieces of implementations in other people?s projects and then making the tests pass again. It turns out this can be a good way to learn from others regardless of your current experience level. Our meeting will kick off with food and drink courtesy of Pivotal Labs. Come by any time after 6:45 for refreshments and networking before David starts his presentation. http://boulderruby.org/meetings/2011/12/08/january-2012/ We're still looking for presentations in the coming months. I'm hoping to see some different faces presenting this year so don't be shy. Email me offlist if you're interested. Cheers, Marty Haught http://boulderruby.org Directions: Everlater/Pivotal Labs 1701 Pearl St Boulder, CO 80302 Use the 17th St entrance closer to the alley on the NE side of the intersection. You should see the Pivotal Labs logo in the window. The meeting space is upstairs. We've packed so many smart speakers and people into the same room that it's guaranteed to make your brain hurt - you know, in a good way. You can see the full list here: http://mtnwestrubyconf.org/2012/sessions Not only that, but this year we have added a full day of workshops after the conference. These 3-hour, hands-on sessions are a great way to deepen your understanding of Ruby. And they are a great option if you are looking for some training for your entire team, because like the conference the workshops are super affordable. http://mtnwestrubyconf.org/2012/workshops MWRC 2012 is a two-day single-track Ruby conference held on March 15-16, 2012 in Salt Lake City, Utah. After 5 years we've learned what makes the kind of awesome conferences we want to attend: a conference for hackers by hackers. And this one looks like it's going to be our most awesome yet. And it's still just $100. But you ought to register soon, because we keep the conference small and we tend to sell out earlier each year. Can't wait to see you there! ~Mike Moore http://mtnwestrubyconf.org/ http://twitter.com/mwrc -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
