Subject: [Chirb] Anyone ever used Yadis && || LID?

Hi,

For reasons I don't want to explain I need SSO between a J2EE app and a 
ROR app.  I was looking for patterns or methods for this and stumbled on 
to Yadis (http://yadis.org/wiki/) .
There appears to be a 100% java solution and a 100% ruby solution.
I am looking for anyone who has used this to provide any information 
they can.

This might be a good chirb presentation in the near future.  SSO has 
been a hard issue and these guys *might* have it right.

Great talk yesterday, Marcel. Thanks for taking the time. I really  
enjoyed it.

For some reason it had never occurred to me before that  
link_to_function can take an update_page block or that update_page  
could be used in a helper; so i guess there is no such thing as "too  
obvious" when it comes to some peole :). Thanks for the eye-opener.

Any chance you could post the code for the form sharing example?

Have fun in Europe.

I can go into ruby script\console and do an Image.create fine, but the minute I add belongs_to :quote to my Image model and has_many :images to my Quote model, I start to get a MySql error.  I've done quite a bit of testing and have even swapping out the quote table with a table called Articles (which works).  Is Quote a reserved word or something?

Here is the error:
ActiveRecord::StatementInvalid: Mysql::Error: #42000You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' )' at line 1: INSERT INTO images (`name`, `quote_id`) VALUES(, )

	Looking at the SQL statement in question, it seems that the
INSERT contains no name and no foreign key. Did you do "image.name=" and
"image.quote=" before calling "image.save?"

Yes, I've noticed that the Values part of the SQL does not contain anything.

But rails is supposed to popualte the Values automatically.  When I remove the belongs_to from my Image model the insert happens correctly:

My current work around is to call my table Quotations, rather than Quotes...

If you change the name of the table "quote" to something else I believe 
it will work.  I had this issue and resolved it that way.

interest in presenting JRuby. Are you available to do that on October
2?

Anyone with a desire to present or an idea for a topic please pipe up
now so we can prepare for November too -- I'm making it an early New
Year's resolution to plan a month ahead now that Wristwatch Jake isn't
going to save me every month!  :-)

You can now RSVP on chirb.org - I have finished applying a bug fix.

A bit more detail on the bug: The RSVP feature overwrites the early
RSVPs whenever you RSVP for the current event, thus causing your early
RSVP to disappear. (Thanks to Jake for spotting it a few weeks ago, and
silly me for not restarting Rails after fixing it).

My sincere apology for this embarrassing bug.
