Flourish Conference 2008 starts tomorrow!  Flourish 2008 will run from 
Friday, April 4th till Saturday, April 5th.  Everything seems to be coming 
together and everyone on the Flourish Team believes we are about to put on 
a great confererence for you.  We have 16 speakers, 6 special events and 
activities and currently over 325 registered attendees.  If you know 
someone who has yet to register for Flourish 2008 who would like to take

One event we particularly would like to bring to your attention is the 
Code for a Cause Hack-a-thon.  The Code for a Cause Hack-a-thon is a great 
way to get involved with writing open source software while performing an 
act of community service.  Dozens of open source developers and 
enthusiasts will collaborate to build open source websites and 
applications for local non-profit organizations.  Projects include an 
interactive map of homeless shelters in Chicago, a website for a 
reforestation program in Ethiopia and a Facebook widget framework for 
raising awareness about critical social issues.  Volunteers of all skill 
levels and backgrounds (including development, design, documentation, 
etc.) are welcome to attend!

I noticed that the restful_authentication plugin doesn't allow a user
to be "remembered" on multiple machines or browsers. The issue is that
the remember_token is reset if a user logs in. So, here's an example:

1. I log in on Safari, the remember_me token is set in db and cookie
2. I log in on Firefox, the remember_me token is reset, so the token
in the Safari cookie is no longer valid
3. I'm logged out (not remembered) on Safari

Someone posted a one-liner change to the restful_authentication plugin
that fixes this. The solution is to use the remember_me token if one
exists already, instead of always overwriting it.

This seems like a good idea to me, but I'm wondering if anyone else

No security problems, aside from being able to use more than one
browser. Actually I think that's its purpose, since I can't think of a
good reason why you would want to do that.

I've started a google calendar for the chirb.  I for one can't remember 
anything unless it is in my calendar.  I thought I would share it with 
anyone who might be interested.

physics library called chipmunk.  I'd be happy to do an interactive 
session on that. Is there any interest in such a thing?

Those sound interesting, but if anyone has been using BDD, tools such as 
RSpec, Story Runner, Selenium, Cubic Test or any other quality 
improvement tools, it would be great to have a session where people talk 
about what they have found to be best practices.

We tried integrating RSpec Story Runner and Selenium.  The integration 
was easy, but it created a workflow nightmare that we had to back out 
of.  If others have stories about there experience it seems like such a 
session might be very valuable.

present with you, asking questions, kind of like a 2-person panel format.
