I went last year and to the 2006 convention in the Chicago suburbs. I
thought it was worth it.
Its a great opportunity to get to know people in the community.
This year the demand for Rails programmers seems to be growing, so it should
be good for people looking for work.
That being said, I have to get a new laptop this year so I won't be able to
fit both the convention and the purchase in my budget.
