I can do most of a release, but we need to update the website, and I no longer have access. Things outstanding (that I think we should worry about) 1) documentation around git (I can do) 2) documentation around mercurial (I have no idea where our mercurial support is at, alex?) 3) removing ccrb from tw jira (alex?, I might be able to talk to whoever maintains it, but it would probably be easier to do from your side of the world) 4) actual release (I can do) 5) press release stuff (I can do) 6) updating website directly after release (can't do) Did I miss anything? How's your availability, Alex? Should we start talking about moving ccrb to somewhere that I can update it at? There have been several bugs to do with it's documentation that I haven't been able to finish... Jeremy -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Message-ID: <3945c4270902241916x151c2ab9n9acbfb578dd5680@mail.gmail.com> Hi all, Aman King, a fellow ThoughtWorker, recently updated http://cruisecontrolrb.thoughtworks.com to the trunk version, and it is now running a bunch of projects. There are some interesting issues that we haven't looked yet, but at least we've got the CI loop for our own trunk again. This also means that our "official" demo and documentation are ahead of the last released version. Unfortunately, I didn't get any beach time to do the 1.4 release (I am writing this from a hotel in NYC exurbs). So, I'll just have to do it an hour or two at a time for the next N days, I guess... So, where are we on the documentation update front, and what other items are still outstanding before we cut a release? Also, if anyone has a favorite small feature or bug fix that they want to add (from somebody else's fork perhaps), this would be a great time to talk about that. Me, I want to steal a "link for CCTray" feature from Cruise. :) -- Alexey Verkhovsky http://alex-verkhovsky.blogspot.com/ CruiseControl.rb [http://cruisecontrolrb.thoughtworks.com] -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I think we are pretty good, Jeremy committed most stuff to master branch recently. One thing we do need in this release - to increase the git short commit ID length. I think it is currently 5 or 6 (was increased by Mike G a couple months ago), but that wasn't enough to prevent some dups on the rails build. Bumping it another couple places should be fine. No bug or patch for this, but it is a very simple change with test coverage. My personal pet peeve is that that manual svn builds don't include the changelog, but that is probably not a small change :) -- Chad From alexey.verkhovsky at gmail.com Tue Feb 24 23:43:34 2009 From: alexey.verkhovsky at gmail.com (Alexey Verkhovsky) Date: Tue, 24 Feb 2009 21:43:34 -0700 Subject: [Cruisecontrolrb-developers] CC.rb site updated, how are we feeling about release 1.4?
