? plugins and extensions
why the lucky stiff
why at hobix.com

We've seen a number of new Hobix extensions appear in the last few
weeks. Great stuff. I want to get to the point where these
enhancements become the focus. The system acts as the channels for
customization.
So, how do we bring these plugins to the forefront? Here's a few options:
* Get the web installer to ensure installation of RubyGems. Install
the app through RubyGems and plugins are available through
RubyGems as well.
gem install hobix
gem install hobix-calendar
* Add installation of plugins to the web installer. When you install,
you could be given an interactive menu for configuring and adding
plugins to any or all of your blogs.
You have the following blogs:
why: http://whytheluckystiff.net/
hobix: http://hobix.com/
boko: http://bokononist.hobix.com/
Install calendar on which blogs?
Add to Quick templates as `sidebar_calendar'?
* Manual installation, shared via Wiki. No intense setup for authors.
Even the plugin submission process could be automated. Interactive menu
asking for some metadata and the file locations. Then, it all gets
gemmed or tarballed, then uploaded.
I really want to be involved in the installation process to ensure that
Ri stuff is generated and that there's an easy avenue for sharing and
receiving these extensions.
