We've talked about this before. Sean doesn't like git. And honestly I
can't say I totally disagree with him.

If Rubyforge ever supported Mercurial, then I think Sean would support
the switch but I talked to Tom Copeland, and while that's on the TODO
list, there is no telling when it will happen.

Why not just branch the SVN? I can spell out how if you're not
familiar with it.
