[Mongrel] tmp file copy on upload

I have an upload progress bar that runs fine, except when  the  tmp file is
being copied locally.  Can someone explain why the file is copied from
mongrel1626-0 to CGI1626-0   ?

It results in a progress bar that hangs at about 90%  .. Reminds me of
burning a CD.
