That gave me exposure to RadRails, which I've been wanting but have been too busy with opensails.org. I'm still inspired by Rails and it's ease of use. adam williams From nathaniel at talbott.ws Sat Nov 12 10:48:38 2005 From: nathaniel at talbott.ws (Nathaniel Talbott) Date: Sat, 12 Nov 2005 10:48:38 -0500 Subject: [raleigh.rb] Had a great time at the Ruby meetup Message-ID: <78BE0A7D-51C1-495C-9BF1-7A918A1D7471@talbott.ws> Thanks to everyone that made it on Thursday night... I really enjoyed it. The discussion was great, and the self-organized hacking session seemed to go really well. I think we had three different projects going - a raleigh.rb-specific meetup.com replacement, a simple contact manager for small groups, and a test coverage tool. If anyone continues to work on these, do keep us abreast of your progress - it would be great to get some momentum rolling on them. If you weren't there Thursday night, we'll be meeting against next month, and would love to have you join us. One thing I mentioned at the meeting is that this mailing list is for more than just administrative email - feel free to use it to ask Ruby questions, discuss local tech, or whatever. It's here for the community to use, so do use it. Again, thanks for the great meeting... and see you next month! -- Nathaniel Talbott <:((>< From nathaniel at talbott.ws Tue Nov 29 08:55:19 2005 From: nathaniel at talbott.ws (Nathaniel Talbott) Date: Tue, 29 Nov 2005 08:55:19 -0500 Subject: [raleigh.rb] Want to get paid to do Ruby? Message-ID: <68A1FCB6-2573-4FDB-B4B1-45955DDCC4B4@talbott.ws> I recently (less than two weeks ago) resigned from my position at MercuryMD to become an independent consultant and entrepreneur. MercuryMD is increasingly using Ruby to power their back-end software as well as some customer-facing software, and has a need for someone with real-world Ruby expertise to do development and to help fill the role of "Ruby go to person." If you're interested in finding out more, please drop me an email and I'll put you in touch with the right people. FYI, I enjoyed my time at MercuryMD a lot - it's a great group of people. The founder often refers to it as a "young, big company," and it is definitely growing by leaps and bounds these days. I'll be getting more details out about my new venture sometime in the next month, but do get in touch if you need Ruby development or assistance - I'd love to help. Thanks, -- Nathaniel Talbott <:((><
