Hi folks,

I'm looking for someone local who can spend some quality time writing  
some Ruby programs for me and Dave.

This would involve automated workflows using Excell, email feeds and  
Mysql on Mac OSX, and possibly some graph plotting.
Not rocket science, but time-consuming.

If you are interested, please send me your resume, compensation  
requirements, and a brief statement as to why you love Ruby :-)

Subject: [raleigh.rb] Tonight's Meeting

The baby that I was expecting to arrive 2-3 weeks ago decided that  
this morning would be a great time to come, so while I always enjoy  
the meetup, this month I'm not going to be able to make it. Oh, and  
thanks for asking, mother and baby are doing *great*.

Now, while I'm the ostensible organizer, you've probably noticed that  
my role is pretty light on formality, so if you're planning on being  
there tonight - don't despair! I'll give you a quick outline of what  
I had planned, and ya'll can either use it to run the meeting, or you  
can throw it out the window and just have fun talking about Ruby.  
That's the goal anyhow, right?

Here's what I had planned:

- Introductions
     Figure out each others names and contexts
- Q&A
     Try to help each other out
- Announcements
     Got work? Need work? Planning a Raleigh.rb coup? Let everyone know.
- Code Katas
   - Fun little coding problems that should be approachable in an  
hour or two.
     I would suggest everyone pick one, perhaps pair (everyone may  
not have a
     laptop), work on them for a while, and make sure to leave some  
time to
     discuss the results.

eye on my email for the next few hours in between holding a cute  
little baby boy.

I've been contacted by someone local that has a RailsConf ticket  
they're not going to be using. They've been kind enough to offer it  
to the group (at the original $450 they paid for it) before making it  
generally available - any takers? First come, first serve, so don't
