Message-ID: <533048b70612220623y6eaad4efse780907cc355b32f@mail.gmail.com> Can a ruby interpreter ( ../bin/ruby.exe ) built with mingw32 be used [ at_all | safely ] to replace the vc6 (msmin32) one shipped with OCI? Would anything else have to be changed as well, or is it simply not feasable? Background is that the version of ruby-1.8.5 used in the ruby185-21.exerelease of OCI has (through no fault of the OCI maintainers) a bug in require that causes a lot of warning messages when invoking libraries such as FXruby. I can't rebuild ruby with msvc6, as that compiler does not seem to be available for download anywhere. I have built ruby-1.8.5-p2 with mingw, and it runs in an Msys shell, but is the resulting ruby.exe 'portable' to other windows environments?
