The hacks on the WTR wiki have been reverted. I've also turned off the editable link via the main Ruby cgi. To get edit links, you'll need to access it through an alternate cgi script. Default: http://www.clabs.org/wtr/ Editable: http://www.clabs.org/wtr/clwiki.editor.cgi Note, the editable link defaults to the recent changes page instead of the FrontPage, but other than that, it's the same wiki. Of course, please don't publish this editable cgi url within the wiki itself, lest the hackers get ahold of it. For now there's no security on this edit cgi script, but I can add that in the future if it becomes necessary. -- Chris http://clabs.org/blogki From chrismo at clabs.org Sat Aug 14 10:23:31 2004 From: chrismo at clabs.org (Chris Morris) Date: Sat, 14 Aug 2004 09:23:31 -0500 Subject: [Wtr-general] New build Message-ID: <411E2063.5080303@clabs.org> Bret had requeste a new build distribution a week or so ago. Actually, the CVS repository was missing the latest cliecontroller.rb file, that's been committed just now, but that version already went into the 2004.054.0 release. So, looks like we're good, Bret, unless you know of something newer somewhere else that needs releasing. Just let me know. This week Im hoping to get lots of unit tests written for the current controller I use. THis is to 1) make it easier for me to move to the new controller and 2) make sure we use TDD for the new controller Im going to first create html pages for all the things the controller should be able to test, and then use these to generate the unit tests Bret has a list of the things we want to do and in the order we want to do them. The html pages I had in mind were like the following: Button Test page each of these pages would be a a single test case for the controller we would validate correct operation of the controller by determining the url we are at. Bret - can you send the list of things so we can start dividing up some activities? Here are the notes that Paul and i put together last week, below. I'm not sure that they'll make any sense to anyone but Paul. I've been seeing a great reaction to the announcement i put out. Now we need to roll up our sleeves. One thing i've been looking at is some very interesting work that's been done at ThoughtWorks and is in the process of being open sourced. Most of the work is in JavaScript and has the significant benefit of being able to test IE or Mozilla-based browsers. I'm trying to think how would could merge this with our current plans. I will be teaching another class based on this material on Friday (in Austin). I hope to have some unit tests and stories spelled out over the weekend. Maybe i'll get some better story descriptions written up on the plane tomorrow (i fly from Grand Rapids to Austin, about six hours from door to door.) I've recieved several private emails from people eager to contribute and who i suspect are lurking on this list. That's great. I hope to have something to point you all to shortly.
