BTW, it's basically a bug that this is so hard to correct.

I've just checked in a change to trunk that allows this simpler code to
avoid this problem with future versions:

  ie.disable_checker(NAVIGATION_CHECKER)

I'm actually thinking about providing a more general mechanism for adding or
removing methods from being automatically executed after every page load. I
really need it for the lazy evaluation as well as to de-couple the xpath
support.
